鹹竹蜂是用鹽水腌浸過的中藥「竹蜂」，竹蜂入藥首見於《本草綱目拾遺》，性寒、味甘，強調「並非一般的蜜蜂」🐝。

鹹竹蜂🐝有清熱化痰、定驚作用，可用於治療小兒驚風、風水腫痛、乳蛾（相對西醫的扁桃腺炎）、口瘡。臨床上遇到喉嚨腫痛，因聲帶水腫而出現聲沙、失聲的問題，鹹竹蜂也有一定的利咽、開聲作用。

黃皮以樹皮入藥，味苦，性溫，中藥名為黃皮皮，載於《生草藥性備要》，原文記載為「消風腫，去疳積，散熱癪。煲酒服，通小便，解污穢。核，治疝氣」，具利水消腫、通利尿道等功效。
